TikTok is now enhancing its user experience by enabling direct content sharing from a selection of cutting-edge AI-driven Adobe applications, as well as CapCut, Twitch, and more.
Today, TikTok is introducing a new feature that empowers its users to directly upload their content to the video platform using an array of popular editing applications. These include Adobe's AI-infused video editing marvel, Premiere Pro, and their AI creative suite, Adobe Express, alongside other notable platforms such as Twitch, SocialPilot, and ByteDance's CapCut.
This fresh addition, named "Direct Post," primarily targets third-party app developers aiming to foster a closer integration with TikTok. It builds upon TikTok's existing "Share to" capabilities, which already allowed third-party apps to publish content to TikTok accompanied by their distinct hashtags.
With "Direct Post," these applications not only gain the capability to seamlessly upload video content directly to TikTok's platform but also have the flexibility to customize captions, audience settings, and more within their own framework, subsequently transmitting this data to TikTok with a single click. Furthermore, this feature equips long-form video creators with the convenience to schedule content publication on TikTok via social media management platforms.
This addition positions TikTok to harness the advancements occurring in the broader creative app landscape, especially those apps harnessing AI technology within their video editing processes.
To utilize this feature, content creators need to authenticate their TikTok account within the respective third-party app. It's crucial to note that apps seeking to utilize Direct Post's Content Posting API undergo a rigorous vetting process.
Adobe, which recently unveiled an array of new AI software and technologies at its annual MAX conference, emerges as a pivotal collaborator in TikTok's latest feature rollout. Adobe now extends Direct Post support through Adobe Premiere Pro, offering AI-empowered video editing tools, and Adobe Express, a streamlined AI-driven creativity application.
Deepa Subramaniam, Adobe's VP of Creative Cloud product marketing, emphasized the significance of this launch by stating, "Now more than ever, real-time content publication has become an imperative, and creators of all skill levels require tools that empower them with greater efficiency and minimal disruptions. With the introduction of the Direct Post feature for TikTok, available within Adobe Express and Premiere Pro, content creators can continue crafting exceptional content with heightened speed and seamless creative workflows."
Other notable partners include CapCut, a renowned video editing tool from TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, which has recently achieved the remarkable milestone of surpassing $100 million in revenue.
In addition, Twitch streamers are granted the ability to employ Twitch's Clip Editor to convert their clips into portrait mode for direct sharing on TikTok. Furthermore, they have the option to export their portrait clips to TikTok as drafts, facilitating further edits.
SocialPilot, a valuable social media marketing tool, is also adopting Direct Post. This brings automation capabilities to professionals, teams, agencies, and businesses seeking to streamline their social media content distribution.
Developers of creative tools and video editing applications can access the API, with future support for image sharing on the horizon, as TikTok has announced.
